Red Skelton entertained us for over six decades. His humor was timeless and the Christmas Specials were spectacular.
Red Skelton had his own show Radio show in the forties and early fifties. Then he expanded his talents to a new medium,...Television.
During the years on Radio and Television he performed many Christmas Specials with the characters he created.
One of Red's unique Christmas Specials was one that took place in his home with him appearing as his different characters such as Sherrif Dead-eye, Clem Kadiddlehopper and the always drunk Willie Lump Lump.
Several of his TV Christmas Specials included the lovable hobo, Freddie the Freeloader. Freddie the Freeloader had a heart of gold and was willing to give to others even though he was usually less fortunate than the people he was helping out.
Freddie the Freeloader Christmas Dinner with guest star Vincent Price has Freddie with a mind set of having a Christmas Dinner at a very expensive restaurant.
In his adventures to get there, he happens to stop in at a hospital and entertain some children that have to be there for Christmas.
Every Christmas Special that Red did had a very heartfelt ending with blessings of gladness and joy.
